WE DEMAND A FULL INVESTIGATION INTO HILLSBOROUGH PET RESORCES CENTER (PRC) ON ALLOWING DOGS UNDER THEIR CARE TO BE ADOPTED BY CONVICTED DOG FIGHTERS DUE TO SHODDY OR NON-EXISTANCE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES INTENDED TO PROTECT THE ANIMALS UNDER THEIR CARE

  • by: Lou LaChat

The Hillsborough County Pet Resources Center (PRC)  has been in the news a lot, and not for any good reasons,  unfortunately.

They do not follow or have any proper protocol for adopting the dogs in their care out as was seen when Circuit Court Judge Lisa Campell convicted Kenny Bell and Darnell Devlin of organized Dog Fighting. By law these two were not allowed to even own a gold fish as the honorable Judge decreed. However the Hillsoborough County Pet Resources Center (PRC) never put them on any prohibited list. So now against the Honorable Judge's orders they can still actually walk out with any dogs they feel are  "dog fighting worthy" for a mere $20.00 a piece.

This is a travesty, and not what the good people of Hillborough County expect from their local animal shelter.

The bottom line is that this calls for a full investigation into their methods, policies and procedures for operating an animal shelter. Their current executive director needs to be removed immediately for these shoddy and non-existant policies and procedures at the very least for not having proper paperwork available for who is eligble to adopt and who is not, as revealed by your local TV station and newspaper. This is at a minimum, what all citizens of the United States expect from the various agencies created to protect the animals under their care.

Thank you for fully investigating this facility under your jurisdiction and taking the proper steps to correct it immediately.
