Go UNDERGROUND - Klang Valley MRT Project

We, the residents of Kota Damansara Mutiara Damansara, Bandar Utama, TTDI, Damansara Utama, Section 16, Section 17 and Damansara Heights demand that the underground line be built underground from The Curve station to Semantan station.
The Klang Valley MRT project proposed by the government of Malaysia will have a positive socio-economic impact on all Malaysians. The MRT alignment at the KVMRT website (http://kvmrt.com.my) indicates that only 9.5km of the planned 51km line will be underground from Semantan to Taman Bukit Ria.
While we welcome the progress that can be attained by this project we are concerned that should the MRT line and its stations be built above ground it will have a negative impact on local crime rates, the environment, property value and traffic congestion during the construction period. The MRT project must be implemented responsibly without unnecessary inconvenience to the rakyat.

The environmental impact assessment (EIA), commissioned by the government and released on Tuesday, 15th January 2011 acknowledges that thousands of residents who live near the project will suffer from noise, air and water pollution, as well as traffic congestion; and that businesses in certain areas would potentially lose customers, especially those that depend on the local neighborhood.

We, the residents of Kota Damansara, Mutiara Damansara, Bandar Utama, TTDI, Damansara Utama, Section 16, Section 17 and Damansara Heights demand that the underground line be extended beginning from the Curve to Semantan and onwards to Taman Bukit Ria.

This will impact the proposed stations at The Curve, One Utama, TTDI, Seksyen 17, Seksyen 16 & Pusat Bandar Damansara in a positive way that will put people first while ensuring that we enjoy progress now.
