In the United States, nearly 40 million Americans lack even a single paid sick day. In fact, 40% of private sector workers and 80% of low-wage workers cannot earn paid sick days.
This is a big problem for the health of our families and our economy! Workers without earned sick days have to make an impossible choice between going to work sick (and risk infecting coworkers and customers) or staying home and losing an invaluable day’s pay, or sometimes even losing their job.
