2,097 11:30 pm PDT, Oct 31 Mr. Maneesh Pangasa Yuma Arizona United States I am a U.S. citizen and am against the war in Iraq. I ask that the U,S. Government end the occupation. When President Bush entered office he inherited a large federal budget surplus from former President Clinton that could be used to pay down the national debt but was turned into a deficit. While our own economy suffers and our government is in red, the Iraqi government now has a $60 billion dollar plus federal budget surplus that was $80 billion in the summer thanks to high gas prices which has been left untouched while our federal government spends $10 billion a month in Iraq. On top of that we now have a $700 billion dollar bailout of Wall Street firms to buy bad credit and mortgages but nothing yet for Main Street. I support Peace Action's opposition to the war in Iraq and the VoteVets boycott as well. I hope more Democrats win in Congress in 2008 to get a 60 seat majority and Barack Obama is elected President and then finally Democrats end the war properly and redeploy to Afghanistan which is needed.
