Help Write the Prescription for Change in the U.S. Healthcare System

As nurses, doctors or healthcare workers, you know best what's wrong with our healthcare system and what must change. That's why it's critical that our leaders listen to solutions from the people on the ground.

We've identified five key principles to deliver to Democratic leaders on behalf of healthcare workers. Join the call to heal our broken healthcare system today! For added impact, add your own prescription for change. This is your chance to let political leaders hear from healthcare workers.
Dear Democratic Party Leaders,

Following is my prescription for change in how to fix our broken healthcare system.

1. We must ensure affordable, quality healthcare for all, without gaps in coverage or access. We must meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations, such as children and seniors, and address the need for additional long-term care options within the home and community-based settings.

2. Everyone needs to share in the responsibility of building a better healthcare system. Providers, employers, insurers, patients and our state and federal government must share responsibility for fixing, as well as funding, what it takes to deliver the highest quality of care in our new healthcare system.

3. Patients should be able to choose their doctor and healthcare plan, with full access to relevant information that would inform their choice. Their medical records must be kept secure and confidential.

4. Our solutions must control cost in safe and sensible ways. Preventive care, and a focus on the quality of care should be prioritized to create a new healthcare system that improves patients' health outcomes, as well as our ability to deliver the best care possible.

5. We will remain united in our vision for a new national healthcare system throughout this election and beyond. Too many calls for change end with the election of candidate.
