Enforce Animal Welfare Act!

The Animal Welfare Act and its amendments comprise the only federal law in existence serving the cause of animal welfare. Despite the existence of this Act, practices such as fox and coyote penning, inhumane treatment and use, euthanasia and excessive hunting still take place in many areas. Additional state laws are being enforced with a similar principle, but this Act is federal and therefore has a wider net than all state laws. By signing, you are asking our leaders to step up to the plate and enforce this act in more intensive and effective ways than before. You are also ensuring that more lives will be changed for the better, both human and animal alike.
We the undersigned, ask you to act for the intensification of the Animal Welfare Act and its enforcement. The AWA of 1966 covers animal sale and use for research, testing and similar applications.

In connection with this law, you would expect that animals are already safe and assured of a dignified existence. This is sadly not the case. Abuses such as inhumane treatment, excessive hunting, puppy mills and fox penning still occur nationwide. In relation to this, we ask for your support and action.

We appeal to you to ensure that the AWA is enforced to its maximum capacity, in order to stop these horrific practices. In addition, we respectfully request an increase in the monitoring of establishments and facilities using animals in various ways.

By doing this, you are supporting the principle that all creatures deserve a life of security, peace and dignity. You are also conveying your wish to ensure that the mistakes committed in the past are rectified in the present and future.

Your support will make a valuable difference in the lives of animals and the humans who work to protect them.

Thank you for your time.
