Support Hillary Clinton's Plan to Fight for Climate and Environmental Justice

Hillary Clinton has a plan to address the outsized impact of climate change and pollution on the health of communities of color — and she needs our help to make it a reality.

What if your child were five times more likely to die from asthma? What if hazardous waste producers were more likely to locate their facilities in your neighborhood because of your ethnicity or income? And what if your skin color made it more likely that you and your family would be drinking lead-polluted water?

For millions of Americans, environmental racism is a tragic — and preventable — reality and the need for action is dire. Consider these facts:

  • Almost three-fourths of African Americans reside in counties with air pollution levels that exceed federal standards. [1]
  • Nearly half of US Latinos make their homes in counties where the air does not meet acceptable smog levels. [2]
  • African American children are far more likely to experience lead poisoning. [3

Hillary Clinton has a concrete, actionable plan to protect the health of millions of Americans. It would eliminate lead as a major public health threat within five years, modernize drinking and wastewater systems, increase polluter accountability, clean up hundreds of thousands of polluted brownfields, invest in clean power and transportation and much more.

Whether or not you support Secretary Clinton in the upcoming election, we must act now to stop poisoning poor and minority communities. Please sign my petition now.

Former Secretary Clinton,

As someone who cares about protecting the environment, advancing social justice and saving the lives of Americans who are disproportionately threatened by climate change and pollution, I support your plan to fight for climate and environmental justice.
