End Greyhound Racing in the United Kingdom

To put an end to all Greyhound racing in the United Kingdom
We the undersigned are horrified at the recent death of Rusty the greyhound who was brutally shot and left to suffer on a Welsh mountainside.
Rusty was clumsily shot with a captive bolt pistol, his ears were also cut off so that his racing tattoos couldn't reveal his owners identity. Owner Edward Hurley paid killer Andrew Gough £10 to kill Rusty.
After days of suffering Rusty was eventually euthanised by a local veterinary surgeon. Despite horrific injuries Rusty still managed to wag his tail at the vets surgey.
The killing of Rusty is not an isolated incident, many dogs are shot as trainers are not willing to pay vets fees to dispose of their unwanted dogs.
In view of the terrible cruelty inherent in greyhound racing, I pledge to boycott all greyhound tracks and never bet on greyhound racing.
