Fund Tobacco Prevention—our kids deserve better than $0

New Jersey collects nearly $700 million in tobacco related revenue each year. In the past, a portion of these funds was directed toward crucial efforts to stop teens from smoking and to help adults quit. But in 2013, legislators eliminated all funding for tobacco control and prevention.

Bringing back state funding for tobacco prevention and control programs would stop more than 4,040 New Jersey kids from becoming adult smokers. What's more, we'd save nearly $85 million in health care spending and prevent the premature deaths of 143,000 New Jersey kids. Funding for tobacco control and prevention in New Jersey is a win-win for us all.

New Jersey can’t afford to do nothing. Our kids are worth more than $0. It’s time to protect our kids and stand up for a healthier future for us all.

Tell your legislators our kids are worth—it fund tobacco prevention and control programs.
