Trump Recklessly Pulled Out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Demand Congress Act Now.

President Trump has announced that America will abandon its allies and back out of the most groundbreaking international climate agreement in history. This move puts America last, and will have disastrous consequences for our country.

It undermines our place on the world stage, puts the health of Americans at risk as we breathe dirtier air, and jeopardizes homegrown manufacturing jobs spurred by the clean energy economy in parts of our country left behind by globalization—all while dialing up the disastrous ramifications of climate change.

With a presidential administration that's gambling with our future, we need Congress to stop hiding in the back seat and step up to fulfill their responsibilities. Tell your elected officials that it's time to act on climate.

Don't let America fall behind on climate action

Dear Secretary Tillerson,

In the wake of President Trump's reckless decision to surrender America's leadership on the world stage and walk away from the most groundbreaking international climate agreement in history, I'm writing today to ask you to step up and ensure Congress moves forward on climate action.

Leaving this agreement threatens our health and our economy, which is exactly why major American companies asked the Trump Administration to stay involved. US leadership on climate change strengthens our competitiveness in global markets, adds clean energy manufacturing jobs that are growing fastest in parts of the country that have been left behind by globalization, and protects the health of America's children.

Our failure to remain in the Paris Climate Agreement means that Europe, China, and others will lead instead, and puts America last. It is now up to you and your colleagues in Congress to ensure that America stays true to our word, and our values, and put forth a common-sense plan to address climate pollution immediately. Our families and communities are counting on your leadership.
