Four severely neglected horses were found alongside a trail and stabled at a storage facility along the Montana-Idaho border in August.
On Aug. 1, one of the horses was found collapsed alongside a trail, in an emaciated condition and with open saddle sores.
The riders who found this horse tended to the horse along the trail, and a sheriff's deputy later found three more horses owned by the same men in a makeshift pen between two storage units at a mini storage facility in Stevensville, Mont.
The two men responsible are currently facing animal cruelty charges, and the horses are being cared for by the Bitter Root Humane Association.
The American Humane Association has stepped up and provided a grant to help with the care of these horses. In six weeks, the horses were looking healthier and stronger.
Thank American Humane for their help today!
