PROTECT OUR SENIORS FROM BILLIONS IN HARMFUL MEDICARE CUTS

Sponsored by: Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
The Bush Administration released its fiscal year 2007 budget which slashed Medicare by $36 billion over the next five years and $105 billion over the next ten years.

These are cuts to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, ambulance services, and other providers and increases in Medicare premiums for certain beneficiaries. At the same time that the budget slashes Medicare funding, it protects the special interests, leaving intact the $10 billion Medicare slush fund for HMOs. We can't let our parents and grandparents pay the price for Republican corruption.

We must stop the reckless Bush Administration agenda. Join the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in sending this petition to tell Congress to put our seniors ahead of their big industry donors. Democrats are ready to act but need Republicans to vote against it as well. There are simply not enough Democrats to stop it without bipartisan support. Helping elect Democrats in the November election will ensure a Democratic Majority who would restore the People's House once again to the people putting our seniors first.

Sign the petition and tell Congress to Protect our Seniors from Billions In Harmful Medicare Cuts!

Dear Congressman/Congresswoman,

I am writing today to express my concern over President Bush's
proposed billions in cuts to Medicare and the State Children's
Health Insurance Program. His budget is a disgrace, it makes huge
cuts to the Medicare program and then turns around and gives away
billions to HMOs while extending tax breaks for the wealthiest
Americans.

I ask you to stand up for me and my family and not make deep
cuts to critical safety net programs like Medicare and the State
Children's Health Insurance Program which provide care for two of
our most important and vulnerable groups -- our seniors and our
future, the children.

If President Bush is concerned about deficits, he should look
at subsidies for Big Oil and tax cuts for millionaires, not
programs that keep working families healthy.

Support these critical programs and stand with me.

Sincerely,
/Your Name/
/Your Address/
We signed the “PROTECT OUR SENIORS FROM BILLIONS IN HARMFUL MEDICARE CUTS” petition!

In three short years, I will be looking at retirement. I am diabetic, have rheumatoid arthritis and heart disease. I can continue to work because my employer's benefits allow me to get my medication. When I am forced to retire, that retirement will be very short, less than 6 months, because without Medicare benefits I will not be able to afford my medication. America is well on its' way to a policy of showing its' appreciation for its' taxpayers by turning them out to die once they can no longer work.

Medicare is important for or seniors and our disable citizens. The bill will hurt our citizens and those who serve them. We as taxpayers choose to support our seniors and disabled citizens and if we do then so should you. Maybe you can reconsider your budget plan to cut cost where they do not hurt so many citizens. Those who relay on this insurance sometimes have to choose between meds, medical care, and/or eating. In a national such as ours, our nation's citizens should not have to make these choices. Please think of another way to leave your mark on our nation and dont let it be one against some of our most sensitive citizens.

I am currently disabled and depend on Medicare for all my healthcare. This would be a terrible thing.

I need both Medicare AND Medicaid. There is no way I can afford any increase in health care costs. UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE won't discriminate between the "haves" and the "have nots".

Give seniors the same medical care as Medicaid patients! Stop treating them like second class citizens already!! No Justice, No Peace!

Being recently disabled and waiting to get Medicare this bill will personally affect me. I have no other support and need Medicare benefits. Will I get what I need? Under this bill I doubt it. Please stop slashing Medicare!
