Clean Elections - YES on Prop 89!

Big business has become a permanent fixture in Sacramento. The result? State politics that put corporate favors above OUR consumer rights. Some recent examples:
  • Oil companies contributed millions of dollars to defeat legislation that would penalize price gouging.
  • Big phone companies contributed $20 million to the governor and legislature since 2000, eliminating rules protecting cell phone users from abusive early cancellation fees.
  • Giant drug companies spent $87 million last year to defeat a ballot initiative that would have forced them to provide prescription drug discounts to low and middle income consumers.
What can YOU do to put your rights back on top? Sign the petition below to support Proposition 89, "The Clean Money Initiative." If passed, it will drastically limit corporate campaign contributions and provide public financing for qualified candidates who decline handouts from big business.

Dear Decision Maker,

I'm writing to let you know that clean elections are a top priority for me.

As your constituent, I urge you to put my rights above the pocketbooks of big business by supporting public financing of statewide campaigns. This election season, I'll be supporting Proposition 89, "The Clean Money Initiative."

As a leader of our great state, I hope that you too will take steps to make public financing a reality for your future campaigns.

Thank you.
