Reopen 1983 Beirut Bombing Investigation
To: US Congress
The investigation into the Beirut Marine Barracks Bombing in 1983 must be reopened due to new and compelling evidence.
I found a message in Beirut warning of the attack, yet the commission stated it was broad and vague yet the wording of the message would have led anyone to believe that an attack was certain.
The Marines went on alert the evening of the 22nd and stood down at 2 am on the morning of the 23rd of October just 4 hours prior to the attack. Who ordered the relaxed readiness?
Why was the LAF ( Lebanese Armed Forces ) Check Point not manned that morning?
These are only a few questions that must be answered by our government.
Rep. Bart Stupak of MI has agreed to ask for the investigation to be reopened but he feels that no one will answer his request.
Join Beirut Veterans and Bart Stupak in bringing justice to the families of the 241 men murdered while they slept.
