Keep Hate out of American Politics

The Tea Party movement has more than once provided a platform for known racists and anti-Semites to speak about their views on "taking the nation back" from non-whites and non-Christians.

A teabag with a tag paired with a swastika reading "Obamafacism," a sign that reads "Our nation is a Christian Nation", and sponsorship of a bill that would end birthright citizenship are just a few of the hateful ideals that the Tea Party movement promotes.

The Tea Party movement did remove Mark Williams, one of its most blatantly racist members, from leadership of the Tea Party Express when he openly protested the Ground Zero Mosque, claiming that Muslims worship a "monkey god."

Still, Mark Williams is not the only Tea Party member that promotes hateful and alienating thought.

Tell Mark Meckler, national coordinator of the Tea Bag Party Patriots, to stop the misuse of the Tea Party platform to spread of hateful language and ideals across America.
Mr. Mark Meckler,

While not all Tea Party Patriots can be labeled as racists, it is known that certain members who harbor anti-Semetic or racist ideals abuse the Tea Party platform as a way to put their alienating thought into action. For example, the Tea Party of West Michigan website promotes the Anchor Baby Task Force, which deems children born in the U.S. not "Real Americans" that supposedly promote illegal activity.

While some efforts have been made to guide the Tea Party leadership away from hate speech and activity, such as the removal of Mark Williams, leader of the Tea Party Express, not enough is being done to stop the spread of hate speech and hate imagery throughout the movement.

I am writing you to urge you to stop the spread of hateful ideals throughout your political party and keep hate out of American politics.
