Support Safe, Loving Homes for Orphans Around the World

Sponsored by: SOS Children's Villages - USA

Consider these facts:
* Every 2.2 seconds, a child loses a parent
* Over 133 million children have lost one or
   both parents
* 15 million children are orphaned due to HIV/AIDS
* Less than 1% of all orphans worldwide are adopted

For 60 years, SOS Children's Villages has provided stable homes to children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to HIV/AIDS, civil war, natural disasters and extreme poverty. We pioneered a family-based approach that focuses on the healthy and sound development of each child. Today, there are over 470 SOS Children's Villages around the world. But there is still so much to be done.

Every day we hear stories of children like John, a 4-year-old boy who was found by Ruth Mutumba, Village Director of SOS Children's Village Entebbe. His body was infested with parasitic insects, he was unable to speak and he had been left to die in a house made of mud. He was brought to the SOS Village where he was nurtured by an SOS Mother and brought back to life physically and mentally.

Today, John lives in an SOS home within the SOS Village and enjoys the attention of a loving SOS mother and SOS brothers and sisters. He attends an SOS school within the village and is thriving.

Please sign our pledge to support family-based care for orphaned and abandoned children everywhere. Because all children deserve a family and a future.

One day I want to adopt a child who has lost a parent. I want to give a home to a child that does not have a home. I would be more than willing to give a home to a child that has HIV/AIDS. I want to adopt an orphan from anywhere in the world, any walk of life, any health problems. One day I want to show an unloved child what love really is.
