To prevent brutal death of animals whilst they try to escape the loud bangs. A number of animals get run over by vehicles and sometime suffer a long and painful death. Also prevent trauma of animals, the busting of fireworks goes on for days even when it is not a celebratory event.  Animals cannot be sedated indefinately.
