Rebuild America on the Enduring Strength of Dr. King's Dream

Fifty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and described a dream -- "a dream deeply rooted in the American dream" as he put it. One that emphasized the importance of equal job opportunities for urban America. His dream changed America forever.

But despite great gains that followed, massive challenges persist to this day. The African-American unemployment rate is higher in 2013 than it was in 1963!

This is why the National Urban League announced the historic initiative Jobs Rebuild America this year, in an effort to redeem Dr. King's American dream for many struggling Americans. Our 30-city outreach will train and place minority jobseekers, help entrepreneurs build their own businesses and groom young people for success in the modern workforce.

Economic stability is still an elusive dream for many in America, especially in the African-American community. We know the potential is there; with the right resources, we will help that dream come true.

Help rebuild America by supporting the National Urban League and fulfilling Dr. King's American dream. Sign our pledge to show your support for the movement to educate, employ, and empower urban America.
