Support GE Labeling

Now that more states are passing laws to label genetically engineered food, the giant chemical and food processing industries are pulling out the stops to block your right to know.
They're pushing a bill just introduced in the House of Representatives that would block states from implementing their own labeling laws. How is that for big-footing what local consumers want?
Even more shocking, it would allow genetically engineered ingredients in ‘natural' foods, and specifically prevent the Food and Drug Administration from requiring labeling.
Show your members of Congress you won't stand for this end-run on your right to know. Tell them to oppose this bad bill, and support the common-sense bill in Congress that will give you the right to know if your food is genetically engineered.

I deserve the right to make an informed choice when buying food for myself and my family, which is why I ask you to support labeling of genetically engineered food. But HR 4432 would undermine that by blocking our state and others from their right to label these foods! Please oppose this bad bill, and support S 809/HR 1699 so constituents like me can make an informed choice when it comes to something as important as feeding our families.
HR 4432 is an end-run on our state's right to make its own decision for residents. Several states are passing labeling bills after listening to what their citizens want -- and this bill would prevent our state from implementing its own laws.
This bill also would block the Food and Drug Administration from requiring GE labeling, despite the fact the FDA currently requires labeling of foods if they are pasteurized, homogenized, frozen, from concentrate, or irradiated.
Rather, it would make 'voluntary' labeling the law of the land, even though not one single company has disclosed the presence of GE ingredients in their products since the voluntary labeling system was created 13 years ago.
And, HR 4432 would even allow genetically engineered ingredients to be in 'natural' food. That negates the whole purpose of a 'natural' label!
I urge you to support S 809/HR 1699, a bill that will require genetically engineered food sold in the United States be labeled, so I can make an informed choice.
