Help Save UK's Public Forests!

The British government plans on selling off nearly 150,000 hectares of publicly owned forest land to help pay off the countries' budget deficit. Developers who purchase this land will be presented with very few building restrictions and will have the ability to turn these beautiful, forested lands into anything from holiday resorts to golf courses.

Cherished and famous land such as Sherwood Forest, The Forest of Dean and The New Forest could be sold off to private developers. These forests have been publicly owned since 1215 and should remain in the hands of the public for sustainable, free use for generations to come.

Help protect the beautiful forest land in the UK by letting the government know we are opposed to any sale.
We the undersigned write to express our strong opposition to the sale of the publicly owned forest land throughout the United Kingdom. The forests have been public land since the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. Changing laws to allow the sales of this land is unacceptable and unforgivable. We cherish our forest land as a place for all to enjoy the beauty and peace of nature and are proud this land can be used by visitors and locals alike.

The public forests should remain free and protected for generations to come. They should not be turned into privately owned property and businesses. We believe no land protection laws will truly be able to protect this land once it is sold to private developers.

Thank you for your time and please help protect our cherished forest land for generations to come.
