It's simple: Every woman deserves the right to make her own decisions about her health, her family, and her life — without interference from politicians and lawmakers. Out-of-touch lawmakers across the country are doing everything they can to force themselves between women and their doctors and turn back the clock on women's health and rights. In Arizona a law was just signed that requires medical professionals to misinform their patients and tell them that it may be possible to "reverse" medication abortions, which is based on "junk science" that has never been tested for safety, effectiveness, or the likelihood of side effects.
In Arkansas, six new anti-abortion bills were passed in only one month, including one with an "abortion reversal" provision similar to Arizona's and one that doubles the forced delay for a woman to access safe, legal abortion to 48 hours — one of the longest mandatory delays in the country.
In South Carolina, lawmakers introduced FOUR bills banning abortion at 20 weeks.
The numbers of states where these types of laws are passing continues to grow.
