Help Protect Birds from Looming Climate Crisis

Nearly half of the bird species in the United States and Canada are severely threatened by global warming, and many could go extinct if we do not act quickly.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a proposed landmark rule to curb carbon pollution from existing power plants. Those power plants are responsible for over 30 percent of the carbon pollution in the U.S. This is a critical step forward in reducing the pollution that fuels global warming.

The EPA is accepting public comments until October 16th. They need to hear from all of us!

Submit comments to EPA today in support of this critical rule to reduce dangerous carbon pollution.

Dear Environmental Protection Agency: I support the proposed Carbon Pollution Standards for Existing Power Plants - EPA-HQ-OAR-2013-0602 I strongly support EPA's rule to reduce industrial carbon pollution from existing power plants. Dangerous carbon pollution is the leading contributor to climate change. Climate change poses a grave risk to all American through extreme weather, higher risk of disease, and weather-related deaths. It also threatens the world's biodiversity, as birds and wildlife struggle to adapt to a warming climate. I am very concerned about the extreme threats that climate change poses to America's great natural heritage, a legacy that I hope to pass on to my children and their children. We must reduce carbon pollution by 35% below 2005 pollution levels by 2020 to avoid some of the worst consequences of climate change. I strongly support EPA's work to protect all Americans and our natural world through strong reductions in carbon. I urge EPA to take a strong stand on carbon pollution from existing power plants and I support the strongest rule possible to limit this dangerous pollutant in a timely and effective manner.
