MERCADO DE SAN BERNABÉ: CRUELDAD EXTREMA HACIA LOS ANIMALES E INSALUBRIDAD EN MÉXICO.
En Almoloya de Juárez, Estado de México, se encuentra el Mercado llamado San Bernabé, donde se comercia principalmente, con caballos mulas y burros, en condiciones de crueldad y falta de higiene extremas, violando consistente y permanentemente, las leyes de protección animal y de sanidad. Las autoridades, teniendo plena facultad y pruebas para clausurar el sitio (a través de imágenes mostradas en múltiples medios), han hecho caso omiso a este reclamo.
Los animales en venta, en su mayoría, están visiblemente enfermos; son transportados en condiciones deplorables, y arrastrados sádicamente, sin importar que tengan fracturas expuestas, estén sangrando o tengan llagas. Cuando ya no pueden sostenerse en pie, son colgados con mecates para simular que aún tienen fuerza. Carecen de atención médica, agua y alimento y si mueren antes de llegar al rastro, son abiertos en el mismo sitio en que se encuentran, tirando sus vísceras al piso.
Les llaman "animales de desecho", y se les mantiene con vida hasta el último momento, en una lenta y gran agonía, porque el kilo de carne viva cuesta casi el doble que el de la muerta.
Por lo aquí expuesto, exigimos a las autoridades competentes, la CLAUSURA TOTAL E INMEDIATA del cruelísimo e indignante Mercado de San Bernabé.

The market called San Bernabé is located in Almoloya de Juárez, State of México; at this place the main merchandise are mules, donkeys and horses, which are in extreme terrible state and with a total lack of health regulations, thus violating consistently and permanently both: the laws against animal cruelty and sanitary conditions.
Authorities, while having total law enforcement faculties, and all the proof required to permanently close the place (via images in different media), have done nothing about it.
The animals for sale, in its majority, are visible sick; they are transported under deplorable and sadistical ways, without any care even for those showing exposed fractures, bleeding or with visible wounds. When they cannot hold on foot, they are hung with ropes to pretend they are still strong enough. They totally lack medical attention, as well as water and food. In case they die before getting to the place where they are normally sacrificed, their entrails are thrown away right on the floor. They are called throw-away (or disposable) animals; they are kept with life up to the last possible moment, while in a slow and lasting agony, because every pound of living meat costs twice as much as the pound of dead meat.
For all the above exposed, we claim the relevant authorities, the IMMEDIATE AND TOTAL close down of this highly cruel and outrageous San Bernabé Market.

La crueldad y falta de conciencia ambiental del supuesto "homo sapiens" no tiene sutento ético, filosófico ni moral que justifique su ensañamiento con las especies que debiera proteger y responsabilizarse para la conservación de su propio hábitat. La inconciencia y crueldad humana es directamente proporcional a la viabilidad de subsistencia de nuestro planeta.
La existencia de seres humanos crueles y viles que pueden causar tanto daño a los animales en aras de que es su medio de subsistencia es inconcebible para quienes solo deseamos su bienestar, ya que por supuesto los animales merecen un trato digno en toda la extensión de la palabra, y sufrimos una gran impotencia al no encontrar la manera de que el sueño de ese trato digno hacia los animales pueda lograrse algún día.
No puedo creer que exista tanta crueldad en los seres humanos. Ya nada más falta que declaren arte a las barbaries que se cometen en el Mercado de San Bernabé, tal y como lo hicieron con la exposición del perro callejero indefenso de Ecuador que ataron para que se muriera de hambre y de sed en un centro cultural, ante la mirada insensible de los asistentes. Ya basta de impunidad, barbarie, crueldad e insensibilidad. Es sumamente doloroso ver lo que los depredadores hacen a los animales, a los seres humanos indefensos y a nuestro planeta. ¿Hasta cuándo vamos a ver una nueva humanidad?

Yo soy de México, y de verdad me avergüenza que esto suceda acá, he visto este tipo de mercados, y da mucha tristeza y rabia que la gente sea tan inconsciente al darles un trato indigno a los animales, que por si fuera poco, gracias a ellos sobrevive esta gente cruel... Justicia! Terminen con esta atrocidad.
I can't believe this, what in the world is wrong with people. This totally breaks my heart. I can't understand why anyone would want to mistreat animals in the way they do. These people need to be made accountable for the torcher/death of these beautiful horses. If people were mistreated in the manner that they mistreat animals then maybe all the suffering would stop.
