Tell the Senate to Vote NO on the Keystone XL Pipeline

The new Senate is making approval of the Keystone XL its #1 priority -- but you can help change that.

The Keystone XL pipeline would worsen climate change by expanding extraction of the dirtiest oil on the planet -- at a time when we should be spurring investments in clean energy and climate action.

Take action today: Tell Senate Majority Leader McConnell that Keystone XL is bad for America.
Dear [Senators],

I'm writing today to request that Senate leaders halt any forward movement on attempts to approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

The Hoeven-Manchin bill would turn Congress into a permitting authority, overriding a review process that has been in place for decades under both Republican and Democratic administrations. This bill would also waive provisions of critical environmental statutes.

But my main concern is that approval of Keystone XL would worsen climate change by expanding extraction of the dirtiest oil on the planet.

The Keystone XL pipeline is a step in the wrong direction for America. The pipeline would carry Canadian oil sands crude across America's heartland to the Gulf coast, where it would be exported to foreign countries. It would take us backwards at a time when Americans are already experiencing the impacts of climate change. We need to be looking forward and accelerating investments in clean energy.

I strongly urge you to halt and attempts to bring a vote on Keystone XL to the Senate floor.

Sincerely,
