Ban It Now: Eating Dog Meat Is Still Legal in the U.S.!

World Dog Alliance has pushed Taiwan has officially passed the third reading to ban dog meat consumption. This legislation is a sign of Taiwan’s advanced civilization and it has become the guiding star for Asia. Isn’t it strange that it is not illegal to eat dog meat in the U.S.?

World Dog Alliance has been promoting “explicit legislation on banning dog meat consumption” in the United States since 2015, since the most frequent challenge we receive from dog eaters in the East is that even Western countries do not have legislation banning dog meat consumption. Without explicit legislation, it is impossible to rebut dog eaters from the East how necessary a dog meat ban legislation is in their countries.

So please sign our petition supporting Congressman Alcee L. Hastings’ bill to ban dog meat consumption in the United States, which will be a huge step forward for “explicit legislation banning dog meat consumption” worldwide.

On 7 Mar, 2017, Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) introduced bipartisan legislation prohibiting the slaughter of dogs and cats for human consumption in the United States. Joining Hastings in introducing the legislation were Representatives Vern Buchanan (R-FL), Dave Trott (R-MI), and Brendan F. Boyle (D-PA).

World Dog Alliance’s last successful petition:
- On 8 Aug, 2016, WDA successfully acquired over 100,000 U.K. Citizens’ signatures for a petition on the U.K. Congress platform concerning South Korea’s dog meat issue. The subject was debated at the Westminster on 12 September 2016 and well received by the U.K. parliament which would by way of diplomacy to pressurize the South Korea government on the dog meat issue.
- On 14 Dec, 2016, South Korea’s largest dog meat market, Moran Market, has been abolished due to the pressure from the U.K. government.

This is the primary cause for World Dog Alliance’s promotion of “explicit legislation banning dog meat consumption” in the United States.

World Dog Alliance has also produced a documentary movie, “Eating Happiness”, highlight the cruelness of the Asia dog meat trade. Please see The Link of trailer .
