Demand the release of Darin Velder from his current and any future positions with Farmers Cooperative, home office Dorchester, NE

  • by: Becky Tejral
  • recipient: Farmer's Cooperative, Human Relations

We, as a Co-op, pay the wages of every employee. Darin Velder does not have the skill sets, technical know-how, necessary retention of details to perform the duties necessary in his position. Simple tasks, such as placing a bag of dog food out for a coop member or loading mineral blocks into the back of a truck, as a norm, are not completed timely, effectively or not done at all!

This places the burden on the station manager as well as the coop member, especially when fertilizer spreaders are not filled by Darin, in order for a farmer to fertilize his/her fields timely and effectively. Members have to wait for the station manager to return from his many duties, which if over a weekend, may be 2 working days for a farmer, when the spreader easily should have been filled by Darin.

He continuously arrives to work 20-50 minutes late, takes his place 'on the counter' of the station and does absolutely nothing. The station manager has taken these issues to Human Relations only to be told there is nothing they can do. And why? Because he is the son of the Ron Velder, General Manager of Farmers Cooperative. Therefore, the farming residents utilizing the many services of the Pleasant Dale, NE station, are paying thousands of dollars for a zero productivity.

Since this issue has already been addressed by the station manager to HR with no resolution, we, as Coop members, must take a stand and demand the release of current and any future positions with Farmers Cooperative. Any other employee with these same inadequacies, would have been released from his/her position years ago. Being the son of the General Manager shall not make dividend holding members suffer by retaining this employee, Darin Velder, any longer.
