Pledge to Donate a Gift to a Shelter Pet this Holiday Season

This time of year — when the days become shorter, and the weather brings a chill to our bones — we turn to our friends and families to fill our bellies, and warm our hearts. Unfortunately, not every living creature is so lucky.

Take tiny, one-pound one-month-old Chihuahua, Lacey, for example. Bideawee recently rescued her and her six pint-size siblings from an environment that resembled something between a filthy hoarding situation and a crowded backyard breeder. The puppies were starving, infested with parasites, and could barely open their eyes. Several had illnesses that warranted immediate attention — including Lacey, who will require emergency heart surgery as soon as her tiny body is big enough to withstand the procedure.

Animals that come from puppy mills and other dangerous environments are often riddled with illness and injuries; they often require extensive care to heal from such traumatic living conditions. But they do recover, and they deserve every opportunity to lead a normal life. By pledging to donate a gift to a shelter pet this holiday season, you can ensure that puppies like Lacey and her siblings will receive the continued care that they need to heal, and that shelters can continue to open our doors to the many animals that require special care this time of year. Together we can rescue more animals and place them into loving homes.

So take the pledge today and show your support for shelter pets this holiday season.
