Demand Criminal Charges For 8 Employees of Kooyman Farm Accused of Abusing Cows

As an animal lover, I was horrified to learn of the horrendous abuse taking place at Kooyman Farms in Chilliwack, British Columbia, a farm that I drive by daily. The abuse was the most disturbing, heartbreaking and disgusting thing I have ever heard of.

In June, Mercy For Animals Canada released a graphic undercover video showing eight Chilliwack Cattle Sales employees abusing cows by beating and kicking them.

To think this was happening so close to my home has outraged my family and me. The 8 employees were first suspended, then fired -- but firing them is not enough. These 8 men need to be severely punished for this horrible crime and undergo psychiatric evaluations. The farm's owner must also be held accountable. The cattle were clearly wounded -- did the owner did not see this? Or the vets in charge?

The SPCA has called for criminal charges to be filed against the men, who were fired after the farm’s owners, the Kooyman family, saw the video.

Together, we can bring justice on behalf of these gentle, beautiful cows and show that they are not "property" or money makers, but creatures who must be respected.
