Celebrate Shelter Cats With a Thank You to the Houston SPCA!

  • by: ASPCA

What better way to celebrate the furry felines in our lives than to say thank you to the local animal shelters that care for these precious pets?

Please join us in sending a big, furry "thank you!" to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), awarded the "Shelter of the Year" award by the ASPCA for 2006.

In honoring the Houston SPCA, the ASPCA praised the shelter for its cutting-edge community programs, such as a 24-hour ambulance and rescue service for injured animals, free vaccination and sterilization program for pets of the indigent and elderly, and free temporary boarding for the pets of families fleeing domestic abuse situations.

The shelter also served as a safety net for the entire region in 2005, when Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the Gulf Coast region. It opened its doors to animals evacuated from the Louisiana SPCA and served as a major traffic hub for the many pets displaced by the New Orleans floods.

So sign our virtual thank you card, upload a photo of your adopted shelter cat (or other precious pet in your life) and celebrate the important work done by the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals!

We the undersigned want to congratulate you on being awarded the Shelter of the Year award for 2006 by the ASPCA, and we wish to thank you for all of the work you do to rescue, care for and find loving homes for all animals.

Thank you!
