Stop Puppy Farming in Ireland

Breeding bitches kept in these conditions are deprived of clean water, sanitation and space. Puppys are also kept in this horrible condition. They do not have room to walk and stretch their legs and suffer from physical deformities, behavioural difficulties and sickness.

"20 puppies, including chihuahuas, shih-tzus and pugs, were kept in wire-mesh cages stacked almost from floor to ceiling. One dog stood out. It was in a pathetic state. Can animals cry? This dog certainly looked like it was. It had weepy, streaming eyes, and terrible whimpering sounds were coming from its cell - sorry, pen. It clearly had an eye infection, an ingrown eyelash or some eye problem, It also had an "undershot" jaw, which means its bottom jaw is longer than its top jaw, and it had worms"

People buy these dogs from puppy mills and then they end up either giving them to chairity or dumping them on the side of the road. Besides the fact that these puppy mills are horrible and immoral, they are one of the causes of the ISPCA having too many dogs to take care of and dogs being put to sleep. If a person wants a dog there are plenty that are badly in need of a home in the animal shelthers. These mills are just adding to the problem.

To whom it may concern,

We the undersigned believe it is time Ireland put an end to puppy farming. Recently the government tried to change the conditions in the puppy mills but this isn't enough and the conditions will NEVER be better, they must be closed down.  This is cruel and inhumane. People are buying dogs from these breeders and then giving them to the ISPCA or leaving them on the side of the road and the ISPCA can't care for them because there is too many. These puppy mills are part of the reason too many dogs are being put to sleep. If people want a dog they can go to the animal shelter where there is plenty of dogs that need a home, WE'RE just adding to the amount of homeless dogs with these mills.  The photo and the signatures speak for themselves.
