Tell The Senate Judiciary Committee: No More Bush Judges
Target:Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy Sponsored by:CREDO Action
President Bush and his allies are trying to ram through a set of ultra-conservative judicial nominees.
Steve Matthews, nominated to the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Virginia, has no prior experience as a judge. His qualification seems to be donations to Republican politicians.
Gus Puryear, nominated to the U.S. District Court in Tennessee, has spent his career working for, and owns significant stock in, America's largest private prison operator. He faces inherent conflicts of interest when the imprisonment of anyone brought before his bench would result in his increased profits.
But there's a way to stop these lifetime appointments. The Senate can enact the longstanding pre-election practice of simply refusing to move forward with confirmation proceedings for Bush's extreme judicial nominees. Tell Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy: No more Bush judges.
We signed the “Tell The Senate Judiciary Committee: No More Bush Judges” petition!

The delusional quality's of the last eight years need to be negated. My feelings during the current Presidential campaign have pretty much been ignored. I would like to know someone is looking out for the those of us who work and try to make the USA a real power in the world today. I have NO CONFIDENCE in some foolish VP candidate like Ms Palin ( who will likely BE POTUS)--- DON'T LET ME DOWN!

We've seen this happen before throughout history, though usually with people with at least some political or judicial experience. We need to stop someone who the people in general disagree with, a president with historically low approval ratings, from affecting our laws for the next 40 or so years.

We can't afford any more judges who believe that our Constitution is a "dead document", and who want to replace it with biblical law. Stacking the court with extreme right-wing judges takes away our system of checks and balances.

Please stop this nonsense of the Bush Administration. No other President has nominated such a narrow-minded group of individuals! Justice for all.

There is no excuse for allowing George Bush to pack the judiciary with ultra-conservative judges. We want justice!

Let's respect a longstanding process which makes sense. Don't consider last-minute appointments. Thank you.

I am sorry to say that we have allowed way too many Bush judicial appointments to already destroy our Constitution. Please, please do not allow any more to happen.
