Ask the Harper Gov't to do More to End Child Hunger in Your Community

There are 1.1 million kids living in poverty in Canada, and many of them have to miss meals day after day. So many community groups led by dedicated volunteers get no government support. They get no recognition, yet the work they do is critical to so many kids.

Show Kids You Care proposes that the Canadian government change their current policies to help provide adequate financial support for community-based food assistance programs.

It is important that funding goes toward these community-based programs and not directly to school-based food programs. School-based programs leave out children who aren't yet in school or have left school, and they also can leave children without access to food during the summer, on weekends, during spring break, etc.

Please sign this petition to show your support for more funding for community-based programs to give children access to healthy food.
