The U.S. House is back from its holiday recess. Help us put global warming at the top of their agenda.

Last month, we had a historic breakthrough when the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee passed the Climate Security Act. This bi-partisan bill would cap America's global warming pollution.

Now, it's time for the House to act. We have gone long enough without any progress, and time is running out to reverse the damage we have done to our planet.

Dear [Your Representative],

Global warming is the most urgent environmental threat facing the planet today. But, the U.S. House of Representatives has not yet begun to act on legislation to solve this crisis.

I urge you to support strong global warming legislation and to urge House leaders and the Energy and Commerce Committee to begin moving legislation now.

Just last month, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee passed a strong climate bill. But the full Senate is unlikely to schedule a floor vote without House action.

Waiting just two years to pass national climate legislation would double the rate at which the U.S. will need to cut emissions -- from just under 2% a year to over 4.3% a year -- in order to bring emissions down to where they need to be by 2020.
