Twenty-five year old Jonathan Babineaux, defensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons is being accused of killing his girlfriend's one and a half year old dog Kilo, after getting into a fight with her(his girlfriend). Babineaux apparently called his girlfriend who was out at the time, and told her she should get home and check on the dog. What she found was a badly beaten, distressed animal who was throwing up blood. She rushed her dog to the local animal hospital where he later died.
Babineaux is claiming he was using training methods that rendered the dog dizzy enough to smash his head into a wall, thus causing his death.
All animal lovers(not to mention women's rights advocates as this behavior is just another form of abuse and intimidation against women)should come together and ask the football commissioner/the Atlanta Falcons management to severely punish this barbarous behavior by suspending, and or cutting, Jonathan Babineaux until/unless he is found innocent of this heinous crime.
As sports fans in this country we spend millions of dollars a year and we have the right to be heard. Animal abuse by sports figures has been in the news several times recently and we need to ask those in charge to crack down on players who believe this is acceptable.
