Police in Houson Texas arrested 2 people on  August 16, 2012- (Ashley Nicole Richards and Brent Wayne Justice)- for making least 27 videos of animals being tortured and killed.

Justice and Richards tortured a puppy, kittens, a rabbit, mice, a pigeon, fish, lobsters, crabs, and other animals using high heeled shoes, a meat cleaver, knives, screwdrivers, pliers, and other devices.

The videos are called "crush" videos, and are made to satisfy a viewer's sexual fetish. "Crush" videos usually show attractive young women torturing and crushing baby animals with high heels, screwdrivers, knives, pliers and meat cleavers.

U.S. District Judge Sim Lake threw out all federal charges on the grounds that animal snuff films are protected speech.

On December 9, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010, (H.R. 5566),  which criminalizes the creation, sale, distribution, advertising, marketing and exchange of animal crush videos.

We ask the First Court of Appeals to review the decison made by U.S. District Judge Sim Lake to throw out all federal charges on the grounds that animal crush films are protected speech.
