Mr. President: This year, pardon Love, a GMO-free pasture-raised turkey!

Every Thanksgiving, the president pardons a turkey – but these turkeys have always been from factory farms. This year, President Obama has the chance to spotlight the vital role small farms play in our country and to let people know the benefits of choosing pasture-raised turkeys!

“Love” grew up outdoors on the pastures of Singing Prairie Farm, a small Missouri farm. Our four-year old daughter Zea Mary named the bird, then wrote President Obama a letter asking him to pardon Love this year! Will you wish Zea a happy birthday - and help bring attention to small farmers - by signing her petition?

Confinement birds from factory farms often can’t even spread out their wings, are fed grain with antibiotics, and often have their beaks clipped. Pastured birds like Love, on the other hand, get to live outside like the real turkeys they are – and are far better for our own health, with much higher omega 3 ratios!

I know we all want to “Keep Love Alive” – please tell President Obama to pardon a pasture-raised, GMO-free turkey this year!  To see more photos of Singing Prairie Farm go to https://www.facebook.com/pages/Singing-Prairie-Farm/600261326745415

Dear First Lady and President Obama,

My mommy is writing this letter for me.  My name is Zea Mary Arbuckle and I live at Singing Prairie Farm.  We have pigs and turkeys. Thanksgiving, and also my birthday, are coming.  Also, my brother's birthday.  We have a lot of turkeys who live on the green grass by the wilderness in Missouri on our farm.  We have a little turkey named "Love".  Love is good and we should not kill Love at all.  I love Love.  Love should go live on a different farm where she will not be killed.  Love is special.

I am drawing a picture for you.  You should draw a picture for me.  We can make you cookies and muffins, just like Santa Bear.  Mom says, please pardon our turkey, Love, this Thanksgiving.

Goodbye.  We love you a lot.

Zea Mary  Arbuckle (age 3, almost 4)

Holly Arbuckle (the mom)
