Help Shut Down Puppy Mills

Large-scale "puppy mills" are breeding facilities that put profits before the well-being of dogs and puppies. Many of the dogs are forced to live their entire lives in tiny, filthy cages and will never feel grass beneath their paws.

Adult dogs are bred constantly with little or no rest between litters. When they can no longer breed, they're often killed or abandoned. The dogs live in overcrowded cages overflowing with feces and urine, infested with ticks and parasites, and get little or no human contact.

Sick and injured dogs are left to suffer since vet bills would dip into profits. The pups are sold by local pet stores despite the fact that they often have chronic illnesses or hereditary diseases. Where laws exist to regulate these cruel businesses, enforcement can be lax or nonexistent.

When a facility is finally shut down, local shelters and rescues can be totally overwhelmed with the care and rehoming of sick and unsocialized dogs.

Dogs aren't a "cash crop." Pledge to do what you can to shut down puppy mills once and for all.
I PLEDGE TO: -- NEVER purchase a puppy from a pet shop; -- Educate my friends and family about puppy mills; -- Support efforts in my own community to shut down puppy mills.
