Stop Violence Against Vulnerable Women

Acts of violence against women cause more death and disability than cancer, malaria, traffic accidents and war combined.

Women living in poverty are more affected by violence. Asana lives in one of the poorest regions in Ghana. Her ex-husband blamed her when he got ill, labelling her a witch and viciously attacking her by melting plastic over her body.

What may shock you even more is that Asana was 5 months pregnant at the time.

She was banished to a so called 'witch camp' where she now lives in very poor conditions. She has no access to justice and little support.

It's outrageous, unjust and simply wouldn't happen in Australia.

We need your support to keep providing healthcare, food and shelter to the most vulnerable women. With your help we'll also give women like Asana the skills and support they need so they can return to their communities safely. Innocent women are being accused of witchcraft, forced into camps, attacked and even killed. Please don't stand by and let this happen.

ActionAid focusses on helping the world's poorest people. You can help the world's most vulnerable women — like Asana — by pledging your support below. Thank you.
I know that violence traps women and their families in poverty.
