Make National Parks Bottled Water Free

Water is a basic human right. When it is treated as a commodity, our democracy, health, and environment suffers.

Through misleading marketing, the bottled water industry has manufactured demand for an essential resource that already flows from our taps. By selling and promoting bottled water in our national parks, the bottled water industry is attempting to paint its eco-unfriendly product green.

We're not buying it anymore. It's time to think outside the bottle and make our national parks bottled water free!

The bottled water industry has already pushed back against the bottled water ban in the Grand Canyon by trying to pressure park officials behind closed doors. Due to a groundswell of public support, the ban prevailed, but the bottled water industry is not ready to give up yet.

National parks going bottled water free is good for the environment, our pocketbooks, and our health. Sign now to show our national parks director that the American public wants to go bottled water free!
It's time for our national parks to Think Outside the Bottle.

Our national parks are for the people, not for profit. Yet Coke and other bottled water corporations are using them as a billboard and concession stand for a product that is anything but green.

One national treasure (our parks) shouldn't be used to sell another (our water). Water is our most basic human right. Our national parks are meant to be protected from exploitation and profiteering. Water should be, too.

As the National Parks Director, you have a stake in protecting the nation's most treasured wild places and resources. You also have the unique opportunity to build on the momentum the Grand Canyon, Zion and others have already created in going bottled water free.

I'm asking you to help bottled water take a hike out of our national parks by phasing out sales as soon as possible. You can promote and protect the environment by making clear that water, like our parks, is not for sale and deserves our long-term investment.
