The applicant's request is to allow not only commercial activity for the property locations but, to alter the single family residence status to permit 14 on site lodging units. This substantially alters the single family residential characteristics of one of Orlando's oldest communities. The owners of the property requesting the rezoning - know, or should have known that the property as purchased is zoned residential R1-AA. The burden of their commercial interests should not be passed along to the residents of the adjacent neighborhoods.
Commercial development:
- Erodes the existing stable residential community of neighborhoods
- Brings an intrusive noise and activity burden to the adjacent residential neighborhoods
- Allows for easy unfettered access, possible nefarious activity
- Because of the contiguous nature of the lake, every lakefront home owners would be substantially affected by ongoing commercial activity on any portion of the lake.
The existing lakefront homeowners and particularly the adjacent property owners have every reasonable exception that their residential neighborhood will remain residential in one of Orange County's oldest neighborhoods.
We hope you will consider the privacy of all residences and lake front home owners, as this is a private lake. We wish to keep and up hold the prestigious community that is residential and we call home.
