Invest in Our Communities and Build Pennsylvania Back Up

Braddock, PA was already struggling through tough times in 2009 — from job outsourcing in the declining local steel industry to growing inequality across the state — when they got even worse news:

One of the best hospitals in the state, a vital local institution, decided to pack up shop and move to a wealthier town.

It could have been another blow in a long line of injustices for Braddock, but the town and their Mayor, John Fetterman, wouldn't go quietly.

As Fetterman said, "[Their CEO] earns $6 million ... How many yachts can you water-ski behind? Why can't you just put in an urgent-care center?"

The hospital wouldn't help, but Mayor John went to work for Braddock, negotiating to bring an urgent care center to the city.

That's the type of attention and investment that struggling families and communities across Pennsylvania desperately need -- but it's one we're not getting from too many elected officials today.

Stand up and demand our leaders start investing in the people of Pennsylvania. Join Mayor John in the fight to build Pennsylvania back up.
