Update Animal Welfare Policies To Protect Animals in the Farm Industry

Most of you know the issues that occur in the farm industry and it is devastating how these animals are frequently treated and abused.  The Humane Society has brought this issue to light, when it comes to the wordage and standards of the Safeguard Policies to protect these animals.

So many of these animals in question live in confinement all of their lives and our hope is that these Safeguard Policies mandate, as stated by the Humane Society, “the standards within the Good Practice Note for Animal Welfare and the Five Freedoms for Farm Animal Welfare covering all farms, no matter the size.” Read story at https://action.hsi.org/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=104&ea.campaign.id=42201&ea.tracking.id=facebook. The current policies do not have this last statement which is crucial for the well-being of all animals.

Our efforts through this petition is to encourage the World Bank Officials to reconsider the wordage of the Safeguard Policies by including this final statement that would be in the best interest of all the animals.  You can help us by signing and sharing this petition.

World Bank Officials – We are urging you to add some important wordage in the Safeguard Policies that are mandated to help farm animals and consider their well-being. As a last statement, we ask that you include “the standards within the Good Practice Note for Animal Welfare and the Five Freedoms for Farm Animal Welfare covering all farms, no matter the size.” Protect these animals that frequently live their entire lives in confinement.
