Tell AG Laxalt: Nevadans Demand Action on Climate Change, Not Political Games

Once again, Nevada's Attorney General, Adam Laxalt is out of line.

The debate on Climate Change has long ended, it is happening, it is real, and Nevadans are feeling the impact. From extended droughts to increased wildfires we are witnessing the impacts of climate change first hand. But instead of working to build a clean energy industry in Nevada that grows our economy, reduces carbon pollution, and protects people with asthma and other respiratory diseases, Laxalt has chosen to recklessly score cheap political points.

Recently AG Laxalt co-authored a letter claiming his fellow Attorneys General around the country were defrauding the American public and violating their trust. Why? Because they held a press conference that dared to address climate change.

This isn't the first time Laxalt has supported polluters at the expense of our health and economy. He also dragged Nevada into a counterproductive lawsuit attacking the Clean Power Plan. Adam Laxalt's record shows that he prefers the company of climate deniers and the fossil fuel industry while undermining Nevada's progress toward a clean energy future.

I urge Adam Laxalt to stop siding with big polluters and climate deniers and join Nevadans, who overwhelmingly support a transition to a clean energy future that will result in more jobs and economic development for Nevada, as well as cleaner air for future generations.
I'm a Nevadan that cares about protecting our air, land, water and wildlife and I am concerned about the impacts climate change is having on the people of Nevada and our environment. I support a transition to a clean energy future that grows our economy, creates jobs, and reduces pollution.
