The US Food and Drug Administration bans bisphenol A (BPA) from children's drink containers.
On July 17, the FDA voted to ban BPA, an estrogen-mimicking chemical that can seep into food, from baby bottles and children’s sippy cups. In 2010, the FDA made an announcement concerning “potential effects of BPA on the brain, behavior and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children." This dangerous chemical had already been banned in several states and a federal ban was long overdue. Read more >>
