Call on the UK government to grow resilience and build a future free from hunger

Throughout the Horn of Africa and the Sahel, droughts and food shortages are becoming more frequent and severe. Climate change, conflict, and fluctuations in food prices increase the impact of these crises, leaving poor communities struggling to recover and facing a future of poverty and hunger.

The future doesn't have to look this bleak. Together we can change it by growing resilience.

Resilience is a long-term goal. To change the way governments and charities spend aid money, we must first change the way people think.

Concern's Growing Resilience campaign asks the UK government to scale up funding for projects that help poor communities prepare for, and protect themselves from, crises that threaten to keep them living in poverty and hunger. We believe that governments need to support both programming and policy to create the right conditions for building resilience to food and nutrition crises.

We believe building community resilience to recurring crises is central to the elimination of poverty. Will you join us in our campaign?
