Demand House Republicans Denounce Ann Coulter's Hate-Speech

Target: Republican Members in the United States Congress
Sponsored by: Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
As Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said on the House floor recently, we are blessed with many freedoms, and among those is the right to freely speak our minds. While Freedom of Speech is one of the principles that makes our country great, it also means we have to endure hate filled rhetoric, like what was recently used by Ann Coulter.

In her new book, the princess of the Right slanders the 9/11 widows, writing: "These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief parrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband's death so much."

Ann Coulter has the right to speak of hate, but we also have a right to know whether our politicians stand by these hate filled comments. And right now there's a deafening silence from the Republican side, and their silence is allowing her to be their spokesperson.

Join the DCCC in telling Republicans to denounce Ann Coulter's hate speech - Ask the House Republicans is Ann Coulter speaking for you?

I am writing today to ask that you ask all House Republicans to denounce Ann Coulter because their silence encourages her. In her new book, Ann Coulter slanders the 9/11 widows, by writing: “These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief parrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s death so much.”

Lest Ms. Coulter forget, more than 3,000 Americans died and thousands of children lost their parents simply because they lived in the United States. That doesn't matter to Ms. Coulter because she's saying these things to enrich herself. But there is something more sinister in Ms. Coulter's words: The hate she spews is the same kind of hatred we're battling in the war on terror. We are a country of thought and reason.

We must all reject her hate filled words. I ask that you ask your fellow House Republicans if she speaks for them.

Thank you,
We signed the “Demand House Republicans Denounce Ann Coulter's Hate-Speech” petition!

Freedom of speech does NOT mean that extremist hate rhetoric should be allowed public platforms. She said that she says what Republican men are afraid to say - so just what is every single Republican's stand against minorities, poor and homosexual hate crimes etc.

Ms. Coulter claims that the widows she denounced used their grief to make a political point. Their grief was caused by political actions; those actions made the point, which their grief only accentuates. Her “reasoning” is flawed.

Remember the Constitution? Who do you think you are telling others what they should or should not believe. Go join Mel Gibson and you two can be "perfect" Christians.

Ann Coulter has every right to say anything she wishes and no one, including the bleeding heart jerks here should be able to stop her. Free speech means that she or anyone can say anything they want and not fear being censored by a bunch of self righteous twits. You go Ann

You go Ann...Keep up the good work and don't let jerks like the signers of this petition stop you... They claim they are for free speech and yet try to silence those they do not agree with... The First Amendment to the United States Constitution protects speech no matter how offensive its content.

She is a disgusting person who by her own admition is a "mean-spritied bigot" and that by no means is Christian. Making it worse by claiming she is doing her work in the name of Christianity, is not only shocking, but dubious aswell.

Hate-filled, self-righteous, sanctimonious, greedy, exploiting, dishonest, pandering... these are the qualities we've come to expect from the current batch of Republican politicians, and their misguided enablers from the so-called Religious Right. The 'decider' and company have managed to completely subvert the principles of democracy within the GOP, while perverting the ethics of Christianity in the name of God. Rove, Cheney, Robertson, Dobbs, Limbaugh, Coulter and FOX need to look for new lines of work - as Americans begin to 'see through' the outrageous hypocrisy, and recognize the so-called 'neocons' for what they really are underneath the transparent masks. 'NEO NAZIS' is a more truthful term. The American voter is also fed up with the 'pretend party of the loyal opposition.' The abject failure of the Democrats to challenge their counterparts on the other side of the aisle, illustrates how broken the 'two-party' system really is. Please don't be a part of the problem.

I have no respect for this thing called Coulter. Is she human? She is full of hate and evil and I seriously believe she is a spawn of Satan.

To say this "person" named Ann Coulter is an evil and hateful being is so much of an UNDERSTATEMENT! To allow this kind of hatred to be given a platform is UNACCEPTABLE! To hear what she has said in the past and the latest with Elizabeth Edwards and speaking about their dead child is nothing more than pure EVIL. Wishing that John Edwards would be killed in a terrorist attact is insane and STILL she is allowed to voice these hateful comments. The actions that were taken against Don Imus should also be directed to Coulter. I believe in free speech however this is blaten hatred and meant to divide people. She has to go and any station that allows her on their programs I will no longer view and I will contact them and the advertisers and let them know I will no longer purchase their products for being aligned with said program.

Ann Coulter can say whatever she wants. Republican leaders can also say what they want. I hope that you will denounce hate mongers like Ann. By not speaking out, or appearing on talk shows with her and others like her, there seems to be acceptance - as if she says what Republicans want to say and can't. I really hope that isn't true.

This woman is simply making a fortune by selling her books to the ignorant. I would call her 'opinions' rabble rousing, and creating a menace, inciting the stupid to violence etc. She is morally disgusting to me.
