Stand with Leaders of Reproductive Freedom

Target: U.S. Supreme Court Judges
Sponsored by: Care2
"A woman's body belongs to herself alone. It is her body. It does not belong to the Church. It does not belong to the United States of America or to any other Government of the face of the earth," said Margaret Sanger, a leader in reproductive rights who opened the first birth control clinic in the U.S.

Faye Wattleton, a nurse who saw women suffering from botched illegal abortions, stands up for reproductive freedom and other women's rights. "Reproductive freedom is critical to a whole range of issues," Wattleton said. "If we can't take charge of this most personal aspect of our lives, we can't take care of anything. It should not be seen as a privilege or as a benefit, but a fundamental human right."

Now is your chance stand with past and present leaders of reproductive health. Do your part by telling the Supreme Court never to sacrifice the reproductive freedom of American women!

Dear Justice [Name],

March is recognized as women's history month. I am doing my part by standing with past and present leaders of women's reproductive rights.

I am urging you, as a U.S. Supreme Court Judge, to recognize reproductive rights, and never to sacrifice women's reproductive freedoms.

As Margaret Sanger quoted, "A woman's body belongs to herself alone. It is her body. It does not belong to the Church. It does not belong to the United States of America or to any other Government on the face of the earth."

Please respect this statement and stand up for reproductive rights.

Sincerely,

These matters should be decided between a woman and her pastor, doctor, or male partner, not by law.

My body, my choice. Not yours. God has nothing to do with it as he does not say that I should not have an abortion if I need to. It is up to each individual, each individual circumstance. There are children in this world who need so much help, but yet we choose to focus our efforts on the ones that aren't even born. God would not be so happy about that. He loved all children, and wanted the ones who had a life to have a good one.

Right to choose is important because if the babies aren't born (unwanted) then they won't be subject to abuse, cruelty, or neglect from someone that did not want them in the first place. I believe that birth control should be used but unfortunately there are always going to be people that make mistakes & women need to have a choice. Also women that have been raped & women who could die or suffer major health problems from a pregnancy need to have a safe & legal way to take care of themselves. Unfortunately there are always going to be abortions so they must be legal & safe (not back alley & unsafe).

This is my body, not yours just as your grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins and friends bodies are theirs! It is our right! Our Choice!

Whether we like it or not, there will always be abortions. It is critical that you understand women's rights to contraception and to making this difficult decision. Please retain reproductive rights, so that we don't have to go back to back-alley butchery. Thank you.
