Syrian Refugee Children: Don't Leave Them Out in the Cold

This summer, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees released an appalling statistic: Close to 12 million people have fled their homes in Syria, driven out by violence and war. Tragically, half are under 18 — innocent victims.

In a few weeks, these children, many of whom have been exposed to horrors we cannot even imagine, will face another threat: Cold. Winter is coming all too soon, and it is often vicious in the upper elevations of the Middle East. Especially when your only shelter is a tent. Or when your bed is the ground. Please say you won’t let them freeze by signing our petition now.

Last winter was one of the most severe on record for the Middle East. Thanks to compassionate donors, the UN Refugee Agency was able to provide thousands of refugee families with emergency winterization supplies — tent liners, heaters, vouchers for fuel, warm thermal blankets, and mats for children whose “beds” were the ground. Now we need the help of generous donors to protect the lives of these innocent children this year.

Please sign our petition affirming your support of USA for UNHCR and its mission today. Say you won’t stand for leaving vulnerable children out in the cold.
