Bush and McCain: How Different Are They, Really?

Target: John McCain, Senator
Sponsored by: SEIU

As household costs rise and with our economy in crisis, John McCain believes the fundamentals of our economy remain strong - admitting that he "doesn't really understand economics" and "still needs to be educated" on the economy.

McCain says that he has the experience and judgment to bring the change our country needs, but the truth is McCain has sided with George Bush on issues like cutting children's heath insurance, establishing tax cuts for the rich and keeping our troops in Iraq.

Victory on November 4 is critical; it signals the next phase of our efforts to pass universal health care, pass the Employee Free Choice Act and end the war in Iraq.

Presidential candidate McCain needs to hear from hard-working people like you! Send a letter to John McCain, and join the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in fighting for these goals.

deadline: 11-4-2008

Dear Senator McCain,

This is a pivotal moment for America's hard-working families, and the stakes have never been higher. The next four years offer us a chance to improve our neighborhoods, expand health care, raise wages, protect our freedom to form unions and limit the influence of corporate lobbyists.

The next president of the United States needs to make it easier, not harder, to meet these goals - and for workers to achieve the American Dream.

Senator McCain, Washington needs to put working families first!

Sincerely,

We need to make Americans first - not those who have come illegally. Rethink the chant "drill, baby, drill".

Instead of imposing the bulk of the tax burden on the middle class (which by the way has declined from 75% of the U.S. population in 1950 to 35% today) let the multi-billion dollar corporations shoulder their fair portion of the tax burden for once. Someone has got to pay for this huge blunder in Iraq and this massive bail-out for the financial sector. Also, stop giving tax credits to U.S. companies that outsource American jobs! And let's work towards alternative energy instead of using dirty, polluting oil-based combustion engines. Going green would not only create U.S. jobs but it would help the planet at the same time! I don't know where these idiots are coming from who like to chant 'Drill, baby, drill!'. Duh! Oil is finite - but wind, waves, and solar energy are not.

first thing on the egenda to put America back in order is to put God and prayer back in the schools and teachers the right to disaplend the way they can control the kids. The next thing is to get an honest and just president that will do for the people, with God as number one helping him do that. Then the other things like health care, raising wages, improving neighborhoods, and protect our nation, will come into existence, but only with the help of God beside us as a nation.

Your health plan is not a good one, but will throw many people OUT of company plans that they have now. The wealthy do not need tax cuts, but the over-burdened middle class does, and middle class is NOT $500.000!
