Locked up for an SMS. Give Ivo back his future.

Fomusoh Ivo Feh had a bright future ahead of him. He was just about to start university in Cameroon, where he lives. But an SMS message changed everything.

He forwarded a sarcastic text to a friend. Now he's locked up, sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Ivo received a text message from a friend, joking about how it is so hard find a good job – even the armed group Boko Haram won't take you unless you've passed five high school subjects!

So Ivo sent it to a friend, who sent it to a friend in high school. A teacher saw the text, and showed it to the police. Ivo and his friends we arrested - just for sharing a joke.

Give Ivo back his future. Demand that Cameroon drop all charges against Ivo and let him go.
Your Excellency,

I urge you to free Fomusoh Ivo Feh and his friends, Afuh Nivelle Nfor and Azah Levis Gob, immediately.
They have been sentenced to 10 years in prison – all because they shared a joke SMS message with each other.

However, while they are in your care, please ensure that they are not subjected to torture or other ill-treatment and they have regular access to family, their lawyer and all basic necessities.

Please don’t make them pay with their futures for this.
